Oh my goodness, where has the time gone….I don’t think I’ve blogged since, um, almost eight years ago…and I don’t know if any of you remember, but that little something-er-other on Blogspot was called “I luv Ricky.”
Well, I’ve grown up some. Okay, maybe gotten older is more like it. I’ve definitely lived and learned.
But I still love Ricky–Martin, in case you don’t know. And I have so much to tell you all!
First, I’m writing a book. Like a for real book. That will be published. And I want it to be something I’m sooooooo proud of. Something my mom would have been proud of. Something my dad can’t put down from reading–and he mostly just reads magazines and newspapers. Something my husband can’t wait to read–and he doesn’t read books or anything.
And today, that book started taking on the shape I was hoping for–at least the organization and planning part of the book. I have been researching fairy tales and their therapy, significance, etc., since I completed my MFA and wrote that manuscript, and I know that’s where I must go with my story. I mean, when you have a tale to tell, and it happens to include a real prince charming and a happily ever after, how can you not frame it accordingly?
So stay tuned. I plan on blogging my way through the creative process of this book. MY BOOK. And here’s a spoiler from my work today:
“Every man’s life is a fairy tale, written by God’s fingers.” ~Hans Christian Andersen
That, AND I think my Ricky Martin classroom collection should be my talisman in the book…much like Dorothy’s ruby red slippers were for her…
